Gary G. Trout, 73, of Mechanicsville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021. Per his wishes, there will be a pot luck party on the patio when the weather gets warm. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for Gary and his family.
Gary was born March 6, 1948, in Hawkeye, the son of Louis Glen and Lillian B. (Miller) Trout. He graduated from West Union High School. He served his country in the Navy from 1968-1972 and spent one year in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic, Company Sea Wolves. Gary was united in marriage to Patricia Bell on April 1, 1969, in Jacksonville, Fla. He has been enjoying retirement for over a decade from PMX Industries in Cedar Rapids. He loved spending time with family, keeping his yard beautiful, and taking trips with his wife.
Gary is survived by his wife, Patty; three daughters, Robin (David) Dunbar of Clarksville, Tenn., Brooke (Tim) Vavra of Davenport and Cindy (Aaron) Sesker of Pearl City, Ill.; two honorary sons, Tim Bell II and Shane Exman; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Delilah Bahlman, Betty Exman, Robert Trout and Terry Trout; and a great-grandchild.
