ALICE MAE (LYMAN) THOMAS
Sarasota, Fla.
Alice M. Thomas, 87, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Dec. 23, 2021. A memorial service will be held Jan. 13, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Sarasota, Fla., with burial in the Sarasota National Cemetery later this year.
Alice was born April 2, 1934, in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Melvin and Mabel Lyman. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, Cedar Rapids, in 1952, and attended the University of Iowa through 1956. Alice married James Thomas on June 21, 1958.
Alice worked at CRST until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their Lake Delhi home. In 2009, Alice and Jim moved to Sarasota, Fla. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and Concordia Lutheran in Sarasota.
Alice is survived and will be missed by her loving husband, James (Jim); daughters, Kim (Ken) McCully of Houston and Carrie (Rick) Witham of Central City; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew.
