Henrietta B. Nickell, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 28, 2021. Interment was held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Born to Gail and Esther Teed in Baxter, Iowa, Henrietta, or Hank as some called her, enjoyed homemaking, cooking, baking, sewing, cleaning, gardening, music and providing childcare for some of her grandchildren. She loved having holiday dinners, decorating and spending time with her family. She retired from Pheasant Run Apartments after many years serving as a cleaning specialist.
Henrietta and Allan Nickell were married on Aug. 7, 1961, and spent 60 loving years together.
Surviving Henrietta is her husband, Allan; son, Mike (Dori) of Atkins; daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Wittmer of Fairfax; grandchildren, Samantha (Tyler) Andrews of Palo, Logan (Elaine) Wittmer of Runnels, Spenser (Morgan Heaverlo) Wittmer of Cedar Rapids and Drew (Taylor) Nickell of Blairstown; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Don) McCart; four sisters-in-law, Charlene Teed, Donna Teed, Carol Teed and Judy (Joe) Smutz; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Gail Jr., Edward, Leland and Richard; sisters, Helen, Dorothy, Donna and Ruby; and beloved son, Douglas Nickell.
