Julie Ann Schlueter, 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, in the comfort of her own home. She was born the only child of Jerry and Donna (Miller) Balk on March 30, 1966, in Guttenberg, Iowa.
Julie was united in marriage to Tom Schlueter on June 14, 1986, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg. To this union one daughter was born, Ashley Jean Schlueter.
Julie worked for a number of years at Rockwell Collins until recently when she went to work as an administrative services coordinator for Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals for the last six years.
Julie's life will forever be cherished by her husband of 35 years, Tom; her daughter, Ashley (Matt) Wimmer; father, Jerry Balk; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many other relatives and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Balk; both her paternal and maternal grandparents; and in-laws, Albert and Regina Schlueter.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, Iowa. Funeral service will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating.
