The family will greet friends and family from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where a funeral liturgy will begin at 1:30 p.m., with Deacon Dennis Ternes officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Ted's family is kindly requesting that facial masks are worn at all times during the visitation and funeral liturgy at the funeral home.
Ted was born on Jan. 8, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Charles Wencil and Lucille Marie (Koob) Pospisil. He attended Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids. On Aug. 9, 1958, Ted was united in marriage to Lucille Mae Carlson. Ted was a lifelong farmer and had also worked as a truck driver for Hubbard Ice in his earlier years. Ted was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Excelsior Club, Springville American Legion Post 331, Midwest Sidecar Association and the American Motorcycle Association. He enjoyed everything outdoors especially camping and fishing, attending the Iowa State Fair and raising rabbits. Ted also enjoyed attending the Cranberry Festival in Warren, Wis., motorcycle rides but, most of all, loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for being ornery and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
