RONALD RAY "RON" STRUBLE
Manchester
Ronald Ray "Ron" Struble, 72, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was born on Sept. 20, 1949, in Sigourney, the son of Charles and Mildred (Finnicum) Struble. He was raised on a farm outside of Webster and was a graduate of English Valley High School. He then earned his B.A. and M.A. in industrial technology at the University of Northern Iowa.
On Nov. 21, 1970, Ron was united in marriage to Deann Johnson in Waterloo. Deann was the love of his life and his forever girlfriend. Three children were born to this union. Ron worked for the West Delaware School District as an industrial arts instructor for 29 years. He then was in charge of the buildings, grounds and transportation. Later Ron was the computer technology staff support person for the West Delaware School District. During summers, he operated Struble Construction, building houses with his teacher buddies. Ron and Deann owned and operated Orchard Lane Mobile Home Park in Manchester.
Ron served honorably in the Iowa Army National Guard for 25 years, retiring in 2004. He was a longtime member of the Manchester American Legion Post 45 and served as the commander for over 10 years. He also was the American Legion Department of Iowa Commander from 2014-15. Ron was on the Manchester City Council for 16 years. He was also on the board of the Good Neighbor Home, a 4-H leader, a member of the Canadian Legion and the 40 and 8 Club. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Ron was a jack-of-all-trades and a master of everything. He was a kind-hearted, giving man, who loved his family and friends to no end. Ron was a true patriot.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Deann Struble of Manchester; his three children, Lori (Chris) Blommers of Manchester, Mike (Stacey) Struble of Strawberry Point and Lindsay Struble of Manchester; eight grandchildren, Bergan, Laiken and Harper Blommers, Gage and Trent Wood, Bo and Wade Struble, and Jack Jennings; two sisters, Patricia Buswell of Iowa City and Janice (Don) Henry of Montezuma; four sisters-and brothers-in-law, Jan (Lyle) Hoffmann of Manchester, Randy (Gail) Johnson of Deep River, Jacki (Bill) Bolen of Montezuma and Tammi (Gary) Quinlan of Montezuma; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Steve Sladek; a niece, Angela Nicholson; two
brothers-in-law, Don Buswell and Raymond Johnson Jr.; and his mother-and father-in-law, Raymond and Dolores Johnson.

Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at The Gathering Place in Manchester, with the Rev. Tony D. Ede officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Gathering Place in Manchester.
Inurnment with military rites: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
