Donald Milo Thomas Jr., 68, of Marion, Iowa, passed away at the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, on Dec. 15, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
A private Celebration of Life will be held after the holidays.
Donald was born on Nov. 6, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of the late Donald and Freda (Thomsen) Thomas. He graduated from Benton Community High School. After high school, then joined the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, spending the last two years with the Marines. He attended Kirkwood Community College and graduated with an AA in Pre-Business Administration. He attended Mount Mercy University and graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice Administration. Donald was an avid bowler and a Beatles fanatic.
He enjoyed helping people whenever he could. He wrote poetry and tried to inspire people even when he was fighting his cancer. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Mae; his siblings, Kathy (Leo) Thomas and Dennis Allen Thomas; and the love of his life, his fiancé Anna Chang. Don fought a good fight, Covid won.
