Horizons accepting monetary donations for 2021 Senior Joy Drive in Cedar Rapids, Linn County
Dec. 15, 2021 6:00 am
CEDAR RAPIDS — Horizons, A Family Service Alliance will provide gifts to homebound older adults in its Linn County Meals on Wheels program. The agency is requesting financial support from the community so it may purchase items such as note pads, pens/pencils, word puzzles, and sugar free candy, which it will then deliver to clients the week of Christmas.
“We are accepting monetary donations to bring holiday cheer to our clients,” said Sofia DeMartino, Director of Community Relations & Grants at Horizons. “We’ll take care of buying the gifts, wrapping them, and then presenting them.”
The easiest way to contribute is through the Horizons website — https://horizonsfamily.org/donate/ — and selecting Meals on Wheels — Linn County on the online form (mention in the Tribute/Memorial section your gift is for the Joy Drive). You also may send a check made payable to Horizons, A Family Service Alliance, Attn: Joy Drive, P.O. Box 667, Cedar Rapids, IA 52406-0667, or bring it to Horizons’ Cedar Rapids office at 819 Fifth St. SE.
