MIX Sushi & Kitchen moving to uptown Marion

Dec. 14, 2021 6:00 am
MIX Sushi & Kitchen announced on Dec. 7 that it will be moving to uptown Marion next year. Its last day in downtown Cedar Rapids at 210 Third Ave. SE will be Dec. 22.
Its new Marion location, 1138 Seventh Ave., is the former home of Urban Pie. Both Urban Pie and Scoopski’s in uptown Marion have closed amid ongoing construction coupled with other business challenges, according to the Corridor Business Journal.
MIX was first opened by Kyle Franklin and Bryan Aung at the Armstrong Centre in July 2019. They offer a wide variety of Asian cuisines.
“We will miss all our downtown Cedar Rapids friends — and who knows, we may be back sooner or later,” they wrote in a social media post.
The Marion location’s opening date has not been disclosed.
