Randy Lee Wheeler Sr., 63, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at his home in Vinton.
A celebration of Randy's life will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., in Vinton. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Randy was born June 18, 1958, in Waterloo, to Charles and Ruby (Lint) Wheeler. He graduated from Washington High School in Vinton, and attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo majoring in Auto Mechanics. He worked as a mechanic for a number of years and recently was employed at Theisen's in Vinton. He was united in marriage to Leanna Davis on March 1, 1986, in Vinton. In his spare time, Randy enjoyed tinkering with cars and his computer. His greatest joy was his family, and he especially loved being a grandpa.
Randy is survived by his wife, Leanna; his children, Toby (Cheyenne) Wheeler of Vinton, Johnny Wheeler of Vinton, Randy (Chelsea Holladay) Wheeler of Shellsburg, Jenna Wheeler of Vinton and Lonnie (Heather) Wheeler of Vinton; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Jimmy (Sri) Wheeler of Vinton and Donnie (Claudette) Wheeler of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda; and brother, Gary.
