Shirley Belle Marti was born June 2, 1936, in Waukon, to Victor and Sylvia (Fish) Marti. She grew up in the Waukon area and moved to Marion. Shirley began working for Turner Microphone Co., where she met Richard "Dick" Paul Havercamp. They married on June 25, 1961. The family lived on an acreage outside of Marion and Mount Vernon. They enjoyed bowling, traveling to Colorado, Virginia and Canada, and boating on the "Dixie Belle" cabin cruiser, enjoying the Mississippi River near Guttenberg. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, reading books-especially poetry, caring for her beloved chihuahuas, traveling to Ohio for Dick's commute, cooking wonderful meals - her dumplings and holiday meals (including the best gravy) were memorable, and spending time with her grandson.
She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; brother, Luvern; sister, Sandra; sisters-in-law, Susie and Connie; and brother-in-law, Larry Johnson.
