Gary J. Walsh, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour before service Saturday, Dec. 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A livestream of the service will be available on the Cedar Memorial website under Gary's obituary, under the video tab starting on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Garden of Tranquility.

He was born on Oct. 2, 1946, in Cresco, Iowa, to John and Amelia (Melcher) Walsh.

He graduated from Crestwood High School. Upon graduation, Gary honorably joined the U.S. Army from 1965-68, serving in Vietnam. Gary was united in marriage to Jeanette Milbach on Aug. 1, 1970. He was employed at Wilsons, Harnischfeger and General Mills, during their 51 years of marriage.

He enjoyed eagle watching, fishing, lighthouses, attending races and maintaining a perfect lawn. He cherished time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Walsh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter, Tammy (Mike) Hibel of Port Orange, Fla.; sons, Dan (Gina) Walsh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jon (Angie) Walsh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Taylor Hibel, Morgan Hibel, Andie Walsh, Karleigh Walsh, Isaiah Holtz and Amelia Walsh; brothers, Dean (Julie) Walsh of Cresco, Iowa, and Keith Walsh of Decorah, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in care of Jeanette Walsh.
