DAVID KEITH NIKODIM
Cedar Rapids
David Keith Nikodim, 72,
of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021. A celebration of David's beautiful life will be held at
2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, in the New Bohemia District.
David was born Dec. 29, 1948, and grew up in Ely, a town that he loved and never forgot. He graduated from Prairie High School in 1968 and attended Junior College in Estherville, Iowa. David bravely endured Parkinson's disease for much of his adult life. Although the disease was debilitating, he never allowed it to get in the way of the things he enjoyed doing and loved. David wrote poems and created art celebrating his love for God. He was also an avid hiker, wilderness camper and taught Sunday school in his free time.
David is survived by his brother, Louis (Connie) Nikodim Jr.; his sisters, Nancy (Richard) Fite and Donna Wiebold; nieces and nephews, Lou (Danyell) Nikodim and Josh Nikodim, Rebekah (Jason) Callaway, Jennifer (Darrin) Murray, Jessica (Chad) Robards, Carrie and Danette Fite; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Dorothy Nikodim.
David Nikodim is greatly loved and will always be remembered.
