Barbara Jean Nebendahl, 70, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m.on Thursday, Dec. 9, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin; children, Keith Long, Scott Long, Kristie Long, Bryan Nebendahl and loving acquired children, Bradley Long and Bryanna Long; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was born on Oct. 3, 1951, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Wilma (Moorman) Davis. On Sept. 21, 1985, she married Merlin Nebendahl at Usher's Ferry in Cedar Rapids. Barbara loved being a mom and grandma and enjoyed decorating for holidays and hosting celebrations with her family. Her favorite was giving gifts and seeing the gleam in the recipient's eye, especially children.
In her free time, Barbara liked playing bingo, finding treasures at garage sales, and hitting the casino. Her feistiness and love for her family will be remembered and missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, William Davis, Beverly Noah, Joan Golden and Linda Davis.
