Larry Joseph Berandt, 56, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at his home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, with a funeral service starting at 6 p.m.
Larry was born on March 5, 1965, the son of Leon and Madonna (Consani) Berandt.
He was a graduate of Metro High School Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Larry worked at
Collins Aerospace. But in his free time, he enjoyed 80s movies, such as "Jaws," "Mickey Mouse Haunted Mansion," "Looney Toons" and "Star Wars." He loved listening to music, especially Kiss and The Rolling Stones, while working on his car or playing his drums. Larry was a big kid at heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Larry is survived and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Amanda Faye of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Urijah, Marley, Lincoln and Harrison; sister, Lynn Benesh of Florida; nephew, Chris Benesh of Cedar Rapids; niece, Brenna Pritchett of Florida; best friends, Eric (Candace) Coon and their children; and his dog, Millie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Madonna.
