Peggy McGuire, 67, of Cedar Rapids, passed away
on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021.
Peggy was born in Independence, Iowa. She worked with adolescents at Roosevelt Middle School and the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center. She found meaning in her work with at risk youth and had a passion for gardening. In addition to her beautiful landscaping,
she also loved her jewelry
and sharing both with her friends and family. Above all else, she loved being involved with her grandchildren. From playing to teaching, she did it all.
She is survived by children, Corey (Victoria) and Casey; grandchildren, Caleigh, Cole and Chloe; best friend, Max; brother, Richard; and sisters, Susie, Mary Kay and Jeanie.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chris; her parents, George and Mary Therese; and her brother, Tom.
Her family would like to thank everyone who was part of her care, including Mercy Hospice Team, her sisters and her friends who brought her so much joy during a difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Mercy Hospice House or add a plant to your own garden in her memory.
Family and friends will be planting a memorial tree at Lake MacBride come Spring as she requested. Details to come.
