Marilyn Pflughaupt, 80, of Coggon, Iowa, passed away at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa, on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
A graveside service will be held at the Mount Olivet cemetery in Coggon, Iowa, on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at 1 p.m. with Father Nick March officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Marilyn was born on April 14, 1941, in Independence, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Willis and Delia (McGuire) Mills. On Jan. 13, 1961, Marilyn married Roger Pflughaupt in Coggon, Iowa. Marilyn was a devout member of St. John's Catholic Church in Coggon, Iowa, for many years. She loved cooking, crafting and taking care of multiple generations of children as a daycare provider.
Those left to cherish Marilyn's memory are her children, Eric (Kandy) of Coggon, Iowa, Terry (Jennifer) of Central City, Iowa, Nick of Dayton, Ohio, and Cyndi Pflughaupt, of Coggon, Iowa; her grandchildren, Angus, Bryanna, Will, Collin and Nick; her great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Carsyn, Eastyn, Lacie and Stella; and her grandpuppies, Zoey and Myley.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sisters, Mildred Mills and Margie Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Oldorf Hospice House.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Oldorf Hospice House, Mercy Medical Center and many others involved in her care for all the love and support they showed Marilyn while she was in their care.
