Jo Anne Boots, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private graveside service will follow the visitation.
Jo Anne was born on Oct. 25, 1939, in Mount Ayr, Iowa. She married Herman Louis Boots in 1960 in Lineville, Mo. Jo Anne worked for St. Luke's Hospital as well as Nolting Manufacturing Inc. until her retirement. She always was busy doing something sewing, hand quilting, stained glass or going for drives along the countryside. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Tina (Harold) Drew of Cedar Rapids, Shelia Boots of Cedar Rapids, Melody (Dennis) Schnipkoweit of Olin, Deborah (Larry) Fossel of Cedar Rapids, Tami (Dave) Dicus of Cedar Rapids and Joseph (Dawn Kaplan) Boots of Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her brother, Donald Thompson of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman; two brothers; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
