Eirik Kepler
EIRIK JASON KEPLER
Swisher
Eirik Jason Kepler, 48, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2021. He upgraded his tired human body for a set of wings, holding the hands of his two favorite girls.
He was born Nov. 11, 1973, and grew up in Mechanicsville. He attended Lincoln High School, Class of 1992. Eirik spent several years as a volunteer firefighter with the Mechanicsville Fire and Ambulance Department. Shortly after graduating high school, he married Kristen, and together they had a beautiful baby girl named Kourtney, whom he absolutely adored. They divorced several years later but shared an incredible bond as active co-parents and remained close friends until his death.
Eirik and Kourtney shared their love for ice hockey and together attended countless RoughRiders games and other sporting events. One of their most precious memories was their trips to Chicago in 2013 and 2015 for the Blackhawks championship parades. He also loved Hawkeye football and was so proud watching Kourtney perform with the Hawkeye Marching Band. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to the casino and a good ribeye steak. Eirik was a hard worker and could bring a smile to anyone's face and he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of a service, a memorial website has been created. We encourage anyone who knew Eirik to visit and share memories and photos: rememberingkep.com.
