EVELYN (DVORAK) OLDRIDGE
Cedar Rapids
Evelyn (Dvorak) Oldridge, 91, was formerly of Walker, Iowa, most recently of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born Jan. 26, 1930, the daughter of Jesse and Emma (Koutny) Dvorak of Walker. Evelyn passed on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. She graduated from Walker Public School. Evelyn was united in marriage to Cecil E. Oldridge on April 18, 1952, in Walker. She worked for Stamats Publishing Co. for 38 years until her retirement in 1993. Evelyn was a member of the Walker American Legion Auxiliary for 70 years. She was a lifetime member of ESA International Business Sorority.
Evelyn loved to watch her grandkids play sports. She enjoyed camping and tending to her flower garden. Evelyn will be dearly missed by those who love her.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Oldridge of Cedar Rapids; children, George (Kathy) Oldridge of Papillion, Neb., and Steve Oldridge of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Jennifer (Christopher) Neal of Jamestown, Tenn., Thadius (Jennifer) Oldridge of Meridian, Idaho, and Kylie Oldridge of Fairfax, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Alexander Oldridge, Isaac Oldridge, Benjamin Oldridge, Taylor Neal and Logan Neal; sister-in-law, Janet Dvorak of Prescott, Ariz.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and granddaughter, Angel Oldridge.
Memorials may be directed to the family to help support the Walker American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 376.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Graveside aervice: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Walker Cemetery.
