THOMAS D. ROSENBERGER
Cedar Rapids
Thomas D. Rosenberger, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021. A private celebration will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Tom was born in Cedar Rapids on June 25, 1939, to Emil and Marjorie (Sheldon) Rosenberger. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1957, he joined the Navy, serving on the USS Midway. Upon his return, he married his wife of 57 years, Sharon Vig, on May 17, 1960. He went on to enjoy a 50-plus year long career in the plumbing industry, a proud member of the Local No. 125.
In addition to his strong faith in God, Dad's passions were the outdoors, hunting, tending to his farms, conservation preservation, line dancing, anything chocolate and time spent with his family and friends. He devoted his life to helping others, coming out of retirement to help with flood relief, church and Samaritan's Purse missions, derecho cleanup and everything in between. His final act of giving was to donate his body to the University of Iowa for medical research.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, Diana Rosenberger of Cedar Rapids and Christine (Brian) Rogers of Otley, Iowa; and his four grandchildren, Amanda (Zach) Heggebo of Marion, Jennifer Moulton of Chicago, Ill.,; Miranda (Jon) Peart of London, U.K.; and Drew (Katelyn) Rogers of Cedar Rapids; and his brothers, Robert Rosenberger of Alaska and Terry Rosenberger of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Betty Mysak; and lifelong friend, Jack Ernst.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Grateful Grannies - Cedar Rapids Community School District Foundation, 2500 Edgewood Rd. NW and/or His Hands Free Clinic, 1245 Second Ave. SE.
