IOWA CITY — Quarterback Spencer Petras is back on Iowa’s depth chart, but he’s not in the role he had before his shoulder injury.
Petras is listed as the backup behind Alex Padilla in Monday’s two-deep.
Padilla, who came in for the injured Petras against Northwestern and started against Minnesota and Illinois, has completed 35 of 69 passes — about 51 percent — in his last three games. He also had three total touchdowns — two in the air, one on the ground — and one interception in that span.
Petras, in nine starts, has a 58 percent completion rate, six passing touchdowns, four rushing touchdowns and six interceptions. Five of the six picks came in his last four games.
While Deuce Hogan was officially the No. 2 quarterback in last week’s depth chart, Petras worked with the second-team offensive unit in practice and also in pregame warmups against Illinois.
