1. The Hornets of Montgomery, Ala., play the fifth of five road games to open their season. They lost 68-60 at Iowa State Tuesday. They have transfers from six different Division I programs.
2. Alabama State Coach Mo Williams played in the NBA from 2003 to 2016. He averaged 13.2 points over 818 games. He played in the 2009 NBA All-Star Game. In his final season he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship team.
3. Through Tuesday, Iowa was 13th in the nation in free throw percentage at .835 (71-of-85).
4. Iowa shot just 37.7 percent from the field and 21.7 from 3-point distance against North Carolina Central Tuesday after going 53.8 and 38.8, respectively, over its first two games.
5. Hawkeye forward Keegan Murray is averaging 3.3 blocked shots. No Iowa player finished a season with more than two per game since Erek Hansen in 2006 (2.6).
