Matthew David Manuel, 45, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Private family inurnment will
be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Matthew David Manuel was born on March 02, 1976, in Peoria, Ill., the son of James and Linda (Kinsella) Manuel. Matthew wore many hats over his career. He was a web developer, graphic designer, woodworker, artist, assistance track coach, and he held many jobs as a laborer before he decided to go back to college at the age of 27. He later graduating from Mount Mercy College. He also played the guitar, which was his passion and was in more than one band over the years. Matthew was a wonderful son, brother, nephew and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Jim and Linda Manuel; a brother, Craig and his family; his girlfriend, Leigh Moore; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and many friends.
He received excellent care at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics with his oncologist, Dr. Chandrikha. The family would like to thank her and all the nurses on the 4th floor for their kindness, support and tender care given to Matthew.
