On Oct. 30, 2021, Karen Ann Stanford of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away at the age of 62. A Funeral Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. 120 Fifth St. NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52405; the family will be available at 3 p.m. for anyone wanting to pay respects prior to the service. Burial
will take place at 10::30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Calvary Cemetery in Ryan, Iowa. Lunch will follow at St. Patrick Hall, 510 Howard St., Ryan, Iowa, 52330. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Karen, born Feb. 19, 1959, in Manchester, Iowa, daughter of Pat and Mary Jo Woods, grew up in Ryan, Iowa, and graduated from West Delaware High School in 1977. She moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and worked for General Mills for 41 years until her retirement in February 2020.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 20 years, Daniel Stanford; her son, Bryan Rempt (Jenny); daughter, Sarah Dreier (Steve); five grandchildren, Samuel, Campbell, Jordyn, Jackson and Jacob; her siblings, brother, Mike (Angi); sister, Deb (Steve Emken); brother, Kevin (Karen); brother, Bear (Julie); many nieces and nephews including, Blaine (Molly), Cal (Kaitlin), Emily (Jordan), Allison, Sydney, Mary, Grace, Emma, Patrick (Maddie), Marin, Daniel, Evan and Abbie; and a long list of loving uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by both parents and brother, Patrick.
