Rose Marie Schwichtenberg
ROSE MARIE SCHWICHTENBERG
Cedar Rapids
Rose Marie was born to John and Helen (Bohr) Light in rural Lisbon on Nov. 9, 1930. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1948. After moving to Cedar Rapids, she met and married Howard Schwichtenberg. They owned and operated Boston Fisheries from January 1963 through December 1985. Howard passed away in 1985.
After volunteering at St. Luke's Hospital for 20 years, Rose retired in 2008.
Rose is survived by a grandson, Brian Freese of Hudson, Iowa; granddaughter, Monica (Ryan) Hanson; and great-granddaughter, Sarianna Grace Hanson of Boone, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and sister-in-law, Alberta Light.
She will be met in Heaven by her husband, Howard; daughter, Susan J. Freese; parents; brother, Marvin; Norbert; sisters, Mary Connell and Margaret Leigh; and two infant brothers. Get ready for the party, I'm on my way!
I appreciate all the help that I received from family, "My secretary" and medical team. You all know who you are.
Rose enjoyed inspirational poems and having parties for family and friends. She was an avid Packers and Hawkeyes fan.
Rose passed away on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, in her home. Services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or St. Luke's Hospice, or St. Lukes Newborn Intensive Care Unit in memory of Rose.
