Voter makes a decision on Cedar Rapids election issues

After seeing the TV commercials, ads and my experiences I made my decision on mayor and the casino.
Tiffany O’Donnell is not a candidate I would consider. She offers nothing new. Who doesn’t want streets fixed faster, cleanup and flood protection? I consider this to be disingenuous and lacking of detail. From past observation I don’t think she has the leadership skills for this position.
I also will not consider Amara Andrews. The mailings I received really concerned me, and especially the one with typical half-truths and pictures of the opposition in dark black and gray. That’s not Iowa. I am moderate liberal, but I’m pretty sure Cedar Rapids doesn’t need ideas that come from liberal California, or Republican Kim Reynolds for that matter. I don’t have a problem with her declaring Democrat to get elected. Pinning down candidates is good especially with the recent rash of candidates changing stripes after being elected.
I also will not vote for the casino. There are too many unknowns. Give me a break; they have no idea where it will be located or costs involved. What will we do to stop their final proposal if we don’t like it and we have no vote on it? The Economic Alliance and Ron Corbett’s business-at-any-cost policy is not good government.
Finally, The Gazette should check out “Iowa Voter Info mail, PO Box 574 CR” who sent sleaze mail.
