Carol Lynn Dustman, 67, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at Park Place, Mount Pleasant. She was born June 23, 1954, in Vinton, Iowa, to Clarence Bertram and Doris Maurine Williams McNiel. On June 29, 2002, she married Gary E. Dustman in Cedar Rapids.
She was a 1972 graduate of Center Point High School, then attended Kirkwood Community College and graduated from Mount Mercy College. For more than 40 years, she worked as a quality inspector at Rockwell Collins.
Carol was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, where she previously sang in the choir. She enjoyed wine, cooking, music and attending concerts, being with friends and family, and traveled with her husband Gary to over 20 national parks.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a brother, Robert McNiel of Midway, Ky.; sisters, Nancy (Jim) Willert of Frankfort, Ky., and Opal McNiel of Marion, Iowa; nieces; nephews; one great-niece;
great-nephews; and her sister-in-law, Paula Curran of Burlington and her three children.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers, Richard and Dale.
Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established for First United Methodist Church of Mount Pleasant and National Parks Conservation Association.
