I write this letter from the perspective of a proud lifelong Cedar Rapids resident, and recent Coe College graduate. It is with great optimism that I recommend mayoral candidate Tiffany O’Donnell to next represent our city.
I had the privilege of meeting with Tiffany O’Donnell as she sought the viewpoint of individuals my age regarding the better interests of Cedar Rapids. She cares about the future of the city and what we can do to keep younger individuals in the area. I told her that I often hear how the city lacks entertainment and occupational opportunities from my peers. These are obstacles. I firmly believe that her “retain and recruit” and “drive and thrive” campaign priorities will provide solutions. We came to the agreement that Cedar Rapids has lots to offer, both from its residents and resources.
I believe Tiffany O’Donnell brings an eager and aggressive approach with her campaign. Her accomplishments and involvement in the community as CEO of Women Lead Change and Connect CR merit why she is my ideal candidate for our city. Aside from development, we both share a background of being Iowa raised as descendants of immigrants. She recognizes our community is one that reflects diversity and requires opportunities and inclusion for all. Our city needs a leader like Tiffany O’Donnell who listens to its citizens, knows their community, and offers solutions now and for years to come.
