DORIS ANN HENRY
Cedar Rapids
It is with great sadness that the family of Doris Ann Henry announce her passing on Oct. 18, 2021. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a graveside service to immediately follow at Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Doris was born May 13, 1946, the only child of Charles and Alice Koranda. On Nov. 28, 1964, she married the love of her life, Robert G. Henry, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Doris worked for (NORAND) INTERMEC for 30 years, she was instrumental in starting NORAND CARES, which brough food and toys to families in needs. She did this for over 25 years. She was a kindhearted woman with a great sense of humor and quick wit. Doris had a smile that always made you feel welcome and loved and was feisty enough to let you know if you did something that she didn't like. She also had a way of making you feel special and loved. She gave the best hugs and will be missed by so many.
Doris felt her greatest accomplishment were her children and was so proud of them. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and the time she spent with them fishing, baking cookies, attending their sporting events, watching movies and hanging out. Doris enjoyed her flower garden, going to garage sales, craft projects, movies and the simplest things in life gave her great pleasure.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert; children, Robert C. (Amy) Henry and Rochelle (Chris) Ernberger; grandchildren, Dr. Nick (Dr. Brie) Henry, Alex (Charles) Babcock, Carter Ernberger and Emily Ernberger; great-grandchildren, Avery Henry, LeeAnn Henry and Haley Babcock; and daughter-in-law, Bernie Brandenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Charles Koranda.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
