John Robert Holley passed away suddenly, Sept. 7, 2021, in Richfield, Minn.
John was born Oc. 17, 1969, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Larry L. (Faye) Holley and Margaret (Richard) Hamed. John grew up in Cedar Rapid, graduating from Kennedy High School in 1988. John continued his education after high school, receiving his Bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and Master's degree in International Business from the University of Wisconsin (Whitewater). John moved to Minnesota after graduation, where he resided in the Minneapolis area until his passing.
John's professional career was in the treasury and financial services area. Most recently, he was employed by FIS as Global Head of Professional Services.
John enjoyed cooking, traveling, deep sea fishing and, most of all, family.
John is survived by his parents; sons, Keagen and Brennan Nelson-Talley; brother, Brian Hamed (Brenda Hayes), Lexus Hamed, Cayden and Taylor Hayes; and sister, Susan Hamed, Jacob and Julia Cacioppo.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.
Per John's request, his ashes will become living underwater Memorial Reefs in Cozumel.
