NAROLA J. 'ROLIE' GRADY
Davenport
Narola Jean Grady passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 11, 2021, at her home. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Christ Church United Methodist, 2330 W. 41st St., Davenport, Iowa.
Narola was born on Sept. 22, 1954, to Robert E. and Helen Jongewaard in Scranton, Iowa, and was raised in the small town of Wesley, Iowa. She graduated from Northwestern College of Roseville, Minn., in 1976 with a degree in Bible and Ministry. She was united in marriage to Michael Grady on Aug. 2, 1980.
Rolie was a devoted wife and mother, house-cleaner, secretary, speaker and evangelist who loved to play piano and was an accomplished sight-reader. Her work in Camps Farthest Out (CFO) brought her to into contact with many places and people the world over. Her passion to know and love Christ was well-known by the many folks she met along the way. Rolie's outgoing personality and kindness allowed her to connect with strangers in a short period of time. She had an uncanny knack for finding other Iowans out and about in the rest of the world. She lived to make her faith and herself as accessible as possible to those who needed her, and she was a comfort to those who were blessed with her presence.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Grady; son, Sean Grady; brothers, Richard (Pat) Jongewaard and Bill (Lori) Jongewaard; sisters, Diana (Jahn) Horgen and Ruthie (Gary) Scheufele; brothers-in-law, David Leitner and Charles (Susan) Fenwick; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kyle Grady.
Rolie had many friends, and she will be sorely missed. Memories and condolences may be shared at cremationqc.com. Memorials may be made to CFO Zone 2.
