I am writing to express my support for Melissa Walker, candidate for the Linn-Mar School Board. Her no nonsense, pragmatic approach to problem solving and her commitment to collaboration will be a welcome voice in our district.
Having worked with Melissa early in my career, I found her to be caring, fair and invested in the health and well-being of our community, specifically children in our community. For 20 years, Melissa has advocated for populations that are often overlooked. She makes data-informed decisions and considers facts, not just feelings, when making recommendations.
As a graduate of Linn-Mar High School, with a student in the district myself now, I value Melissa's experience with fiscal management and her commitment to safe schools. With her experience in mental health and substance abuse prevention, I am confident she will advocate for evidenced-based programs with the best chance of success for our students.
I look forward to supporting Melissa on Nov. 2, and I'm confident she is the right candidate to move our district forward in these challenging times. All community members in our district should have a vested interest in safe and healthy students, both mentally and physically. Melissa is the right woman to help make that happen in the Linn-Mar district.
