KEVIN L. SOMERVILLE
Oxford
Kevin L. Somerville, 72, of Oxford, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Kevin was born July 16, 1949, in Anamosa, the son of Robert and Lois Somerville. He graduated from Midland Community Schools (could have been with honors, if he only would have tried harder).
He liked to drive fast in his '72 Nova, and probably drove more miles backwards than most people have driven forward.
Kevin met the love of his life, Mary, at Solon Beef Days, and they were married shortly thereafter.
They were active in taking care of their moms, raising their family, being good neighbors and stewards of the land. Kevin loved people, and was happy to help anyone in need. His personality could fill a room, and left a lasting impact on the lives he touched through the years. He was a great storyteller who kept his friends, family and anyone else around fully entertained, and laughing to tears.
Kevin is survived by his children, Brennan (Stacia) McGrath, Jessi Williams, Kristi (David) Ouimet and Seth (Peggy) Somerville; along with nine grandchildren; brother, Keith (Joni) Somerville; Kay (Al) Strother; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his brother, Kenny; and his parents.
Memorial Celebration will be starting at 1 p.m. Oct. 30, at the Somerville Family Farm in Oxford. Guests will be invited to share stories, memories, and enjoy good food and music.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.broshchapel.com.
