Francis Edmund Rohlena, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, from complications following a coronary surgery, not COVID related.
Funeral Mass and burial will be Friday, Oct. 8, in Front Royal, Va.
Francis was born Sept. 21, 1942, to
Frank A. and Frances Sonka Rohlena. His education began in the one-room school, Fairview, continued to Roosevelt Jr High and graduated with the Jefferson class of 1960. Then he launched his journey away from Iowa and farm chores, attending trade school in Kansas City and enlisting in the U.S. Air Force being stationed in California. He then took his talents to the Seattle area working for Boeing until he retired. Not one to sit still, he moved to Yuma, Ariz., to set up Francisco's Coffee Shop. There he met his wife, Cecilia. When he closed the shop, they moved to Colorado and recently set up their home in Virginia.
He is survived by eight wonderful children and their families from coast to coast: Washington, California, Colorado and Virginia; sisters, Barb Ashbacher and Pat Semelroth, their families; and lots of Bohemian cousins and friends throughout the world.
