It is with great sadness we announce that Charles "Chuck" J. Snitker, 84, of Solon, Iowa, passed away on Sept. 29, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Chuck was born on Feb. 28, 1937, in Waukon, Iowa. After he graduated from high school, he served four years in the United States Air Force. After he returned home, he worked with Plumbers and Pipe Fitting Industry as a member of the union Local 25, where gave 50 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Lorraine Snitker; and his two brothers, Jim and Allen.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 61 years of marriage, Sharon; their four children, Deb Shaw, Scott Snitker, Patty Henry and Gregg Snitker: six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; along with his three siblings, Kenny Snitker, Ronny Snitker and Kay Ernst.
To honor Chuck's final wishes, the family has asked that memorials may be directed to the Solon Fire Department or Iowa City Hospice.
