ASHLEY ANN HUDSON
Cedar Rapids
Ashley Ann Hudson, 21, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 10 p.m. and prayer service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Palo Community Center, 2800 Hollenbeck Rd., Palo.
She was born on Jan. 24, 2000, in Cedar Rapids, to Kevin Hudson and Debbie Emrich (Grother). Ashley was a 2018 Prairie graduate, recently graduated from Kirkwood and was ready to start Mount Mercy to earn her degree in elementary education. Ashley currently worked at Prairie ECC and her desire was to become a kindergarten teacher.
Ashley loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed camping, boating, floating the river, drag racing, road trips, concerts, movies, sitting by a fire and also enjoyed the quiet nights at home.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her parents, Kevin Hudson, and Debbie and Cliff Emrich; siblings, Keegan Hudson, Jennifer Franks (Jake Fantauzzi), Jessica Franks (Mike Mericle), Tiffany Emrich, Matthew Franks (Lacey Bruns), Tia Wheeler and Troy Wheeler; Ashley was the proud aunt to 17 nieces and nephews. Ashley loved her large family which included grandparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that became family and also her boyfriend, Jacob Hegland. Ashley will be missed but always in the hearts of her family, friends and even people who only knew her briefly. Ashley was a shining light in a sometimes-dark world. Just as beautiful on the inside as the outside. The world has lost an amazing, loving soul that had the ability to love people for exactly who they were.
The family thanks Celebrate Life Iowa for their services.
