Anna M. Pusateri, 108,
died Sept. 21, 2021, at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City, where friends may call at the church from 9
to 10:30 a.m. Father Ed Fitzpatrick will be officiating. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral Mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City.
Anna was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Lena Gallo Cira. She graduated from Marion High School. She worked in the Cira Grocery Store until she married Gus A. Pusateri on June 19, 1935. She worked as a secretary for her husband's tax business
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and was a Past Grand Regent of Catholic Daughters of America.
An avid Hawkeyes fan, Anna also liked crafts and collecting teddy bears.
Survivors include her children: daughter, Mary Anne Strabala of Cedar Rapids, and son, Father Joe Pusateri of Ditmer, Mo.; grandchildren, Martha (Peter) Schommer, Eileen (Lester) Strabala Backus, Jeffry (Janette) Strabala and Chris (Jackie) Strabala; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband; her son-in-law, Lynne Strabala; her siblings, Nettie, Joe, Grace, Mike and Leah; and granddaughter, Mary Lynne Strabala.
A special thank-you to the staff at Cottage Grove and Dr. Karen Harmon who took great care of Anna.
