On the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 al-Qaida attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. and of the heroically-defused attack concluding in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States, reminded us of domestic terrorists frothing in nationalistic and white supremacy groups.
" (T) heir disdain for pluralism … disregard for human life … (and) their determination to defile national symbols … (make them) children of the same foul spirit" as foreign terrorists, Bush explained.
This domestic terrorism could come from the likes of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists and those who believe the 2020 election was fraudulent.
Bush noted earlier, of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists, this is how people act in a "banana republic — not our democratic republic."
Counting all those who erroneously believe the Democrats falsely got Joseph Biden elected president, including elected officials in our own state Legislature, foul-spirited children are everywhere and continue as a pernicious threat to our democracy.
