Shona Kardaras, 59, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, with interment in the Riverside Cemetery. Father Nick March will officiate at the services. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Due to the current health pandemic, properly fitted facemasks, which cover the mouth and nose, must be worn at all times inside the funeral home. Shona Rhea Stewart was born Nov. 29, 1961, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of Donald and Sharon Farley, Kirby. Shona graduated from the Anamosa High School in 1980. She played softball for the Raiders all through high school. Shona served in the United States Navy where she worked as a cryptologist. Following her honorable discharge from the Navy, she returned to Anamosa.
Shona was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. There was nothing more precious to Shona than time spent with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Gina (Dylan) Clymer granddaughter, Demi-Dimitria, and Georgio Kardaras and thee siblings, Sherry Pearson, Pamela (Butch) Gretten and Brett Kirby. She was preceded in death by her parents.
