Reyne A. Emerson, 49, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at her home in Granby, Colo., following a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Phillips Funeral Home, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton. Reyne was born Feb. 11, 1972, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Howard and Aileen (Evens) Emerson. She graduated from Shellsburg High School with the Class of 1990. Following graduation, Reyne moved to Colorado, where she grew to love the outdoors and the Rocky Mountains. She learned and loved the sport of snowmobiling in the winter and enjoyed hiking the beautiful peaks in in the summertime. Anytime Reyne was hiking or doing anything outdoors, you would always find her with Nazzie, her dog, right by her side. Nazzie was her best friend and was even by her side when she passed.
Reyne was a proud supporter of local businesses in Grand County Colorado, she often donated to the Mountain Family Center to help those in the community who might be in need. She found her career as a painter for Thomas A. Mason Co. Inc. and also enjoyed running a cleaning business.
She is survived by her siblings, Rodd Emerson, Ronda Emerson and Rick (Paula) Emerson; six nieces and nephews, Jordon and Devon, Kelcey, Kayla (Jeremy), Brylee and Dakota; and three great-nieces and nephews, Lexie, Landon and Aubrey, and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
