First lady Jill Biden is scheduled to appear Wednesday at the Des Moines Area Community College as part of a Midwest trip to promote the American Rescue plan and the congressional agenda of her husband, President Joe Biden, her office announced Sunday.
She’ll be joined at the Ankeny college by 3rd District Democratic U.S. Rep. Cindy Axne. The afternoon event is not open to the public.
The trip, which her office said is meant to “highlight how the Biden administration is supporting families through the American Rescue Plan and its Build Back Better agenda,” includes a stop earlier Wednesday at an elementary School in Milwaukee where she’ll talk about the importance of keeping children safe during the pandemic at schools.
