Thumper was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1947. He died in Florida on Aug. 26 2021, of an illness that was COVID-19 induced.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy "Hickory" and June Fifield; a sister, Laureen Fifield; and a son, Jeffrey Fifield.
He is survived by a daughter, Traci Kaptenia and her husband, David, of Gulfport, Fla.; and a son, Brandon Culbreth of North Carolina; sisters, Linda McGowan and Lana Bednarowicz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Bev and husband Keith Rowland of North Carolina; an aunt, Cheryl Engle of Aledo, Ill.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four nieces; and two nephews.
He loved nature and, above all, fishing out on the water. He was much loved by his many friends and family. There will be no service. He will be cremated at Abbey Crematorium, Largo, Fla.
