DONALD "DON" HARTVIGSEN

Donald "Don" Hartvigsen, 91, longtime resident of Coralville, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to Serene Care Hospice of Iowa City. Don was born April 28, 1930, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Walter and Ethel (Brown) Hartvigsen. Their family moved to West Branch where Don attended and graduated from West Branch High School, he then went on to graduate from the University of Iowa. Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. On Aug. 19, 1953, he married Della Wenman of Coralville. The couple and their family made their home in Coralville many years ago and for many years, Don worked in data processing for the University of Iowa. He enjoyed the game of golf and the many experiences with family and friends throughout the years. He was a member of GIVE and the Senior Exercise Group through the Coralville Rec Center.
His family includes his two children, Dennis Hartvigsen (Sandra Navalesi) and Diane Schultz (Mark); granddaughters, Jennifer Wilson (Austin) and Sara McIntosh (Chris); and great-grandchildren, Tyler McIntosh, Allie McIntosh and David McIntosh.
