Lola L. Orris, 91, of Monmouth, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday morning, Sept. 7, 2021, at Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Monmouth, Iowa Cemetery.
Lola Lena Busch was born on July 14, 1930, in Jackson County, Iowa, to Adolf and Lena (Kramer) Busch. She was a 1948 graduate of Elwood High School and shortly thereafter married Ronald R. Orris. They were married on July 25, 1948, in Maquoketa, Iowa, and recently celebrated their 73rd anniversary.
Lola was a farmwife raising five children. She also was a 4-H leader and had worked as a cook at Camp Wyoming for a short time.
Lola enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, and fishing trips to Canada with good friends Betty and Bill Reed.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ronald Orris of Maquoketa, Iowa; children, Jim (Susan) Orris of Monticello, Iowa, Cathy (Randy) Cronbaugh of Belle Plaine, Iowa, David (Sherry) Orris of Monmouth, Iowa, and Lori (Rick) Willenborg of Dyersville, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Velma Osborn of Galesburg, Ill.; and a brother, Louis (Sharon) Busch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Colleen Ann Orris Nolting; brother, Arnold Busch; and a sister, Irma Ihns.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Lola L. Orris memorial fund has been established.
