Iowa City West’s Alex McKane is ranked No. 1 among Class 4A boys

CEDAR RAPIDS — Iowa City West star Alex McKane, now ranked No. 1 individually in Class 4A, is the star attraction for Thursday’s Cedar Rapids Invitational cross country meet.
Competition is at Seminole Valley Park. The girls varsity race is scheduled for 4:35 p.m., with the boys starting at 5:10.
Other top individuals include Ford Washburn of Iowa City High, Shane Erb of Marion and Miles Wilson of Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the boys race, and Iowa City Liberty’s Ashlyn Keeney and Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Lourdes Mason in the girls race.
City High’s boys are the top-ranked team in the field, at No. 4 in Class 4A. West is No. 9, while Marion is No. 3 in 3A.
The only top-10 girls team is Dubuque Wahlert (10th in 3A).
