Cuba, Mo.
Linda Kay Morton, 73, of Cuba, Mo., formerly of St. James, Mo., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at Sullivan Hospital.
Linda was born in Iowa City, Iowa, to Earl and Bionda Boots on March 30, 1948. Linda graduated from Monticello High School in 1966. After graduation, she entered the full-time ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses for 10 years. She lived in Savanna, Ill., and then Knoxville, Tenn., where she met Richard Morton and they were married. They lived in South Carolina and New York, and then back to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Linda divorced, and soon after that moved into an independent living facility and later to an assisted living facility. After her health worsened, she moved to St. James, Mo., to live with her brother, John, and his wife, Rhonda. Just prior to her death, she was living in Cuba Manor nursing home.
Linda enjoyed crafts, reading her Bible and JW publications. She liked doing word puzzles and adult coloring books. When able, she loved going to the Kingdom Hall, visiting with her spiritual brothers and sisters, then, recently, meetings on Zoom.
Linda is survived by her brother and sisters, John (Rhonda) Boots, St. James, Mo.; Cindy (Paul) Reetz, Vancouver, Wash.; and Carla Henning, Dubuque, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bionda Boots; and brother, Robert Boots.
Memorial service will be handled by Josh Caron, Rolla Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. by way of Zoom.
