Wayne Donald Rover, 70,
of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at his home in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wayne was born Aug. 3, 1951, in Charles City, Iowa, to Donald and Fannie Mae (Flessner) Rover. After high school, Wayne served honorably during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at Executive Construction, and proudly retired in 2009. Wayne was united in marriage to Betty Woody on June 14, 1997, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a history buff, especially when it came to World War II. Wayne was an AVID Hawkeye football fan. GO HAWKS!!!
Wayne was a kind, generous, caring and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his mother, Fannie Mae Rover of Hampton, Iowa; three sons, Wayne Norris of California, Brent Norris of North Carolina and Jeff Rover of Wisconsin; a stepson, Jered Mason of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren, Marybelle and Violet Mason, and Chloe, Page and Riley Norris; two brothers, Gary Rover of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Craig (Diane) Rover of Ames, Iowa; a sister, Debra Rover of Jacksonville, Fla.; in-laws, Linda Woody of Norfolk, Va., and Stanley Woody of Newport News, Va.; and many extended family members.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Donald Rover, and grandparents.
