Sadly, we need to report that David Ketter of Niceville, Fla., formerly of Marion, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, of natural causes.
David was born at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. on Sept. 19, 1964. He was the beloved son of Harry and Nancy Ketter and the brother of Darrin Ketter and Debbie Root.
David is survived by his wife, Ratana Ketter; and his two children, Brandon and Dylon Ketter, as well as his stepchildren, Desiree Duerr and Michelle Baarda. David was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Talon, Brooklyn, Braxton David Ketter and Helena Duerr.
David graduated from Grace Baptist School in 1983 and later joined the U.S. Air Force in 1985. David honorably retired from the Air Force in 2005. David recently retired from the private sector and had moved to Niceville, Fla., in March 2021. David greatly loved living in Florida, where he enjoyed the outdoors and living next to the waterfront, where he could fish and jet ski. David was a devout Christian and found solace and comfort in his weekly Bible studies with his family and friends.
The memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. CST Friday, Sept. 3, at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, 1405 E. John Sims Pkwy., Niceville, FL 32578. There will be a military funeral procession to honor David's service to our nation the following week at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, where he will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.
