Once again, the COVID-19 pandemic is shifting.
New infections, hospitalizations and deaths are on the rise in Iowa, driven by the highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus that has spread rapidly across the United States. While the vaccine is still highly effective against serious illness, experts say its still possible for breakthrough infections to occur in fully vaccinated individuals.
